Damian Priest and Finn Bálor faced off in a heated grudge match at WWE Bad Blood in Atlanta, marking the first time the former allies squared off since Bálor betrayed Priest and cost him the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. The match was fiercely contested from the start, with both men exchanging momentum. In the final stretch, just as Priest began to take control, The Judgment Day made their presence felt, setting up the chaos that followed.
Judgment Day Interference Continues to Cause Problems
Carlito rushed to the ring, drawing the referee’s attention, which allowed JD McDonagh to sneak in an attack on Priest. Bálor took full advantage, hitting a Coup de Grâce, but Priest kicked out. With Carlito continuing to distract the referee, McDonagh tried to hand Bálor a steel chair to finish the job. However, Priest quickly seized the chair from Bálor and knocked McDonagh and Carlito into each other, neutralizing their interference.
Bálor, sensing his moment, struck again with another Coup de Grâce to Priest’s back and even landed a second one. But as he went for a third, Priest had it scouted, countering with his signature South of Heaven chokeslam to secure the pinfall victory.
Priest’s triumph put him ahead in the night’s battles between The Terror Twins and The Judgment Day, with Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley set to clash later for the WWE Women’s World Championship. Dominik Mysterio, notably absent from interfering in Bálor’s match, is slated to be locked in a shark cage for that bout, perhaps explaining why Priest was able to overcome Judgment Day’s usual numbers game.
